Beth and Rob’s festival themed wedding

On Friday 6th July 2018 Beth married her husband Rob in a festival themed wedding at The Wood Norton, Evesham.

THE DRESS

I felt like a princess when wearing my dress. I especially liked the big skirt and the train with buttons all the way down . I also loved that i could customize it with accessorizes which made it personal to me and jazzed it up a bit.
I just loved trying on all the different dresses. You can really step put of your comfort zone and try on something that you don’t think will suit but then potentially get a pleasant surprise when you see yourself in the mirror. I went to a few different shops and everyone was so lovely, they really know how to read you and suggest what they think would suit you. I was very open minded and even if I thought ‘no i don’t like that’ I tried it on anyway.
My Mum and my Grandmother were with me when I found ‘the one’. I knew it must be right as they were both crying.

YOUR STYLE

Once I had found the dress I asked for something to jazz it up a bit. I wanted some sparkles basically! They showed me some belts that could be added and I found the perfect one that sat on my waist. I then added a veil which sat perfectly on top of my train. The veil was lined with lace which ran to the edge of the train, I also had a blusher which I felt kept it traditional. Lastly I had a headband with some more sparkly bits. I especially love this as it really stands out on all the photos.
I had a floor length dress so didn’t go all out on my shoes. I found them in John Lewis, gold and sparkly – perfect to go with my champagne coloured dress.

ABOUT THE DAY

Rob and I love going to see live music whether it be a gig or at a festival. Music has played a really big part in our relationship so we decided to have a festival themed wedding. Our invitations were like vinyl sleeves and we made inserts that held all of the information regarding the venue, timings, accommodation and menu. We made our own table plan and we used old vinyls to write the guests names on, our table names were mini vinyls with pictures of our favourite bands that we’d seen together. We had a live band for the evening and as it was hot on the day we had all the doors open and it really felt like we were at a festival.
After our ceremony we had a quick ride in a VW campervan that had brought Rob to the venue. I loved having that time to ourselves whilst sipping our champagne and trying not to spill it on my dress. It was only a short journey and I wanted to know what he had been up to that morning so there wasn’t a moment to spare!

WORDS OF WISDOM

Don’t go into a dress shop and think I won’t try that on as it won’t suit me. Be open minded and listen to the people working there.
Don’t let anyone impose their own opinions on you. It’s your day!
Visit your venue a few times as you spot different things on each visit. We went to every open day our venue hosted as they always had different suppliers at each one.
Start planning early, time goes by so fast.
