When should I start looking for my dress?
We advise 12-18 months before your wedding, the longer you give yourself the less stressed you will feel. Dresses can sometimes take up to 6 / 9 months to arrive int the boutique, so this just gives plenty of time for alterations and fittings. Please do not worry if you are getting married sooner than this, as we have plenty of beautiful sample dresses available to buy from the shop floor in a range of sizes. Certain suppliers can offer a rush delivery too on ordered dresses so there are plenty of options available for our brides.
Do brides buy on the first appointment?
Yes definitely! This happens a lot . If you’ve found your dress why keep looking? Each bride is different though in the way she shops and makes decisions. We will never pressure you into buying, we want you to be completely sure and are here to support you with finding your dress whether it be the first appointment or the third!
How many guests can I bring to my appointment?
We advise approximately 4 guests due to space we have In the bridal lounge. Also, sometimes too many opinions can make choosing your dress confusing. We always say to choose the people who are closest to you, who you know will make honest suggestions with you in mind.
What should I wear to my appointment?
We ask that you wear underwear however please don’t worry if you don’t have your best set of matching underwear on, we don’t notice we are just concentrating on making the dress perfect for you! Our dresses do have inbuilt bra’s in them so if you are comfortable to go without you will not need to wear a bra to try the dresses on. You do not need to worry about bringing shoes along as we have them available to pop on to try with the dresses if required.
I’m really nervous and unsure what I want, what if I cant find anything I like?
Please don’t worry! We are here to make you feel at ease and enjoy your experience with us. It can be overwhelming but once you get the first couple of dresses on we find brides begin to relax and soon get into the swing of it! We will help you find the styles and fit that suit you and will advise without any pressure. We know our dresses and are listening to what you are liking or not liking , so as soon as we see you in some we start to find other dresses that we know will work for you. When do I pay for my dress?
If you have ordered a dress we take a 50% deposit, with the balance due when your dress arrives into boutique. Sample dresses sold off the shop floor are paid in full on the day of purchase. We do also offer payment plans. We know how expensive weddings can be, so if this is something that can help we will happily discuss this with you at your appointment.
We offer gold or silver storage packages to suit each individual bride.
Do you offer alterations?
Yes! We have our wonderful seamstress Michaela working alongside us meaning your beautiful wedding dress is always in good hands, plus it saves you any stress of finding a reputable seamstress after purchasing your dress. We know exactly what stage of alterations your dress is at and if you have chosen to store your dress with us, you don’t even have the worry of taking your dress to and from appointments, we do that for you.
I want to lose weight, what if my dress doesn’t fit?
Not a problem, If time allows we can take your measurements at a later date! Alterations do not tend to begin until 6 – 8 weeks before your wedding so if there are some slight weight changes this can be looked at during this time.
How much will my alterations cost?
This depends on your individual alteration needs. Our seamstress Michaela does not offer alteration packages therefore meaning you will only ever pay for the alterations you need and not any extra. Michaela will talk through the costs with you at your first alteration appointment. There are always alterations to be done, whether you order in brand new or buy a sample dress however we always try and look at the best option for you to keep your costs down.
Do you have parking?
We do not have a carpark, however there are spaces outside the front of the building or plenty of parking can be found close by in the surrounding side streets. There is a carpark a 2 minute walk away in the high street by the mini roundabout.
Are there stairs in the boutique?
There is a small step at the front door of the boutique. The bridal suite is located downstairs. The mother of the bride lounge is upstairs, however if you or a guest struggles with stairs please do let us know upon booking your appointment and we can ensure we book out the downstairs fitting room and bring the outfits down to you!
